Wrigley Field 8/8/88 Poster Panorama.
On August 8, 1988 the Chicago Cubs scheduled the first night game ever to be held at Wrigley Field. On that date, 8/8/88, baseball history was made as the Cubs played for the very first time under artificial lighting. As the game got underway a thunderstorm developed nearby the stadium, and you can see those ominous clouds between the lights. Early in the game the rain began to fall, and it was called off. The original photograph was taken from an elevated platform across the street from left center field. It includes the famous rooftops, ivy walls and the old mechanical scoreboard. This poster measures 12" by 77" long! It was printed on the largest printing press in the world and was used as a poster give away at the International Print show in Chicago. 2018 is the 30 year anniversary of that "First Night Game"!
